10 Most Pointless Horror Movies Ever Made – Page 6

In an already pointless series, in which every film follows the basic formula, The Final Destination strikes out on its own as an even more meaningless addition to the franchise, positioning itself as yet another cookie cutter sequel to the preceding three films, while supposedly offering up a definitive end. This was something of a last-ditch attempt to lure people back into cinemas, but forgets one important aspect – death never ends.

The formula for a Final Destination movie is clear: a group of ornery folks miraculously escape their fate before being killed off one by one in evermore dramatic fashion until death is square again. And audiences loved it… the first couple goes round. By the time number four arrived in 2009, the franchise had been going for nearly a decade and interest was dwindling.

Thus, director David R Ellis sent us to the races, with a group of folks who escape a fatal accident at the speedway, and – you guessed it – death spends the next 90 minutes making them pay the price. The original characters are all dead, and these new ones are as forgettable as their contrived deaths. What should be a grand series finale feels flaccid and wholly irrelevant.

  1. "Killer Condom" (1996) – This German horror-comedy film about a killer condom on the loose is as ridiculous as it sounds. The premise is laughable and the execution is even worse, making it one of the most pointless horror movies ever made.
  2. "ThanksKilling" (2009) – A low-budget horror film about a killer turkey on a rampage during Thanksgiving break. The film tries too hard to be funny and ends up being more cringeworthy than anything else.
  3. "Sharknado" (2013) – This made-for-TV disaster film about a tornado filled with sharks wreaking havoc on Los Angeles is so over-the-top and ridiculous that it’s hard to take seriously. The CGI effects are laughably bad and the plot is virtually nonexistent.
  4. "Zombeavers" (2014) – Another horror-comedy film, this time about a group of college kids who are terrorized by zombie beavers. The film is filled with cheap thrills and juvenile humor, making it a forgettable and pointless watch.
  5. "Rubber" (2010) – A French film about a tire that comes to life and goes on a killing spree. The film tries to be quirky and artsy, but ultimately falls flat with its absurd premise and lackluster execution.
  6. "Piranha 3DD" (2012) – A sequel to the already pointless "Piranha 3D," this film takes the absurdity to new levels with even more gratuitous nudity and gore. The film is a prime example of how not to make a horror movie.
  7. "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" (2010) – A low-budget film about a small town being attacked by killer birds. The film’s terrible acting, laughable special effects, and nonsensical plot make it a painful watch from start to finish.
  8. "The Gingerdead Man" (2005) – A horror-comedy film about a killer gingerbread man brought back to life. The film is as silly as it sounds, with a lack of scares and a surplus of cringe-worthy moments.
  9. "Sharktopus" (2010) – A made-for-TV film about a genetically engineered half-shark, half-octopus creature on a rampage. The film’s cheesy special effects and lack of substance make it one of the most pointless horror movies ever made.
  10. "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead" (2006) – A horror-comedy musical film about a fast food restaurant built on an ancient Indian burial ground that causes the chickens to come back to life as zombies. The film’s gross-out humor and lack of scares make it a forgettable and pointless watch.
