Rochester, N.Y. — Police are investigating a bank robbery on the city’s west side.
Officers responded to KeyBank on Lyell Avenue near Plymouth Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. for a report of a hold-up alarm.
The bank teller told police the suspect whispered that he had a bomb and to give him money.
The suspect reportedly fled after the teller handed over money from a drawer. No injuries were reported.
Officers took Kevis Herd, 22, into custody after a foot chase on Parkway near Lorimer Street.
Herd is charged with first-degree robbery and was taken to the Monroe County Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place in Rochester earlier in the day. The suspect, whose name has not been released, allegedly entered the bank wearing a ski mask and demanded money from the teller before fleeing the scene.
Police were able to track down the suspect thanks to surveillance footage and witness descriptions. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently facing charges of armed robbery.
