I recently purchased an Android screen for my Prius, expecting a significant upgrade from the original system. While it offers some positive features, such as a more modern audio system, Android Auto compatibility, and the ability to install a rearview camera, I've encountered several disappointing issues.
Pros:
* Upgraded audio system
* Android Auto compatibility
* Rearview camera installation
Cons:
* Misleading specifications: The manufacturer has falsely advertised the Android version as 13 when it's actually 12 or lower. Similarly, the Bluetooth version is not 5.
* Potential for compatibility issues: I purchased a similar radio from another seller, and it had the same problems, suggesting that the issues may be widespread among products from this manufacturer. The plastic adapter for Prius doesn't fit on neither my Prius 2013 or Prius 2011
Recommendations:
I would advise future buyers to look for Android radios with at least 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. While the seller claims an 8-core processor, it's crucial to verify that it's a true 8-core and not a 4×4 configuration. It's also important to be cautious of sellers who may not have accurate information about the product.
Overall, while the idea of upgrading my Prius with an Android screen was appealing, the misleading specifications and performance issues have left me somewhat disappointed.
