As a college student, I have encountered many first times – first time living away from home, first time pulling an all-nighter, first time trying to cook a decent meal. But one first time that stands out the most to me is my first time meeting my professor.

I remember walking into the lecture hall on the first day of class, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. As I found my seat and waited for the professor to arrive, I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of person they would be. Would they be strict and intimidating? Or friendly and approachable?

When my professor finally walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. They had a warm smile and a kind demeanor that immediately put me at ease. Throughout the semester, they proved to be not only knowledgeable and passionate about their subject, but also incredibly supportive and encouraging.

I will always remember the first time I met my professor, and how that initial interaction set the tone for the rest of the semester. It taught me the importance of building positive relationships with my teachers and approaching them with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
