Temperatures will be mild, but keep plans indoors for the weekend as rain is expected to move in Friday night.
Thursday and Friday will remain largely clear, with temperatures rising into the 40s during the day tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.
However, the warmup will bring clouds and a chance of rain overnight Friday, followed by rain throughout the weekend.
Overnight lows will only drop below freezing Thursday into Friday, with highs feeling more like fall, reaching nearly 60 degrees Sunday.
Here’s the forecast for the next few days:
- Today: High 39, low 26, cloudy
- Friday: High 42, low 34, partly sunny with a chance of overnight rain
- Saturday: High 49, low 44, rain
- Sunday: High 59, low 46, rain
As the temperatures begin to drop and snowflakes start to fall, central Pennsylvania is in for a winter warmup with rain expected to move in. While many may be hoping for a snow day, it looks like the precipitation will come in the form of rain instead.
The rain is expected to bring some relief to the cold winter weather, melting away any snow accumulation and potentially causing some slick road conditions. It’s always important to drive carefully in wet weather, so be sure to take your time and leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you.
Despite the dreary weather, a winter warmup can be a welcomed change from the bitter cold. It’s a great time to cozy up indoors with a cup of hot cocoa or tea, and maybe even indulge in some comfort food to lift your spirits.
So, grab your umbrella and rain boots, and embrace the winter warmup as it brings rain to central Pennsylvania. Stay safe and dry, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere that comes with a rainy day.
