Air Arabia Adds Two Airbus A320 Routes In Russia


In a week when the safety of flying in and out of Russia was brought into sharp focus, Middle Eastern carrier Air Arabia launched new services between Abu Dhabi and the Russian cities of Moscow and Yekaterinburg. Adding to its sense of adventure, the low-cost carrier also announced it would resume flights between Abu Dhabi and the Republic of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.

Opening connections between Russia and the UAE

Last Friday, Air Arabia, the Middle East’s first and largest low-cost carrier, launched its inaugural nonstop flight between Ras Al Khaimah and Moscow. On December 27, Air Arabia flight G9830 departed Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT) at 18:33 and, after a 5:07-hour flight, landed in Russia at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport (DME) at 22:40. The return service departed DME at 00:17 on December 28 and arrived in Ras Al Khaimah at 06:38.

Air Arabia has an all-Airbus fleet, and this inaugural rotation was operated with a 2018 Airbus A320-200, registration A6-AOX and MSN 08343. The airline has a total fleet of 70 Airbus A320 and nine A321LR narrowbodies, with a further 120 A320 family aircraft on order and scheduled to start arriving in 2025.

The new service will operate three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Airbus A320 aircraft. Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Adel Al Ali said the airline is pleased to inaugurate the new route connecting Ras Al Khaimah to Russia’s capital city, Moscow, adding:

“This addition reinforces our commitment to offering our passengers affordable and convenient travel options while supporting the growth of tourism and trade between the UAE and Russia.”

The Airbus A320 used to inaugurate the service has recently been flying on routes from Ras Al Khaimah to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (JED), Tashkent, Uzbekistan (TAS), Cairo, Egypt (CAI) and Lahore (LHE) and Peshawar (PEW) in Pakistan. Air Arabia connects travelers at Ras Al Khaimah to Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Calicut.

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi heads to Yekaterinburg

Last week, Air Arabia Group airline, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, launched a new route connecting the UAE to Yekaterinburg. The service will be flown with an Airbus A320 three times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, connecting Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Koltsovo International Airport (SVX) in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Flight 3L756 departs Abu Dhabi at 02:45 and arrives in Yekaterinburg at 08:50, with the return service departing SVX at 09:50 and landing in the UAE at 14:10. The addition of Yekaterinburg brings Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s total network to 29 routes, connecting travelers from the UAE capital to destinations across the Middle East, Europe, South Asia, Africa, and Central Asia.

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has announced it is resuming nonstop flights from Abu Dhabi to Beirut, Lebanon, on Saturday, January 9, 2025. The airline said it is resuming flights to underscore its commitment to providing accessible and seamless travel options for its passengers.

The route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with convenient morning departures from Abu Dhabi and late morning returns from Beirut.
