Another winter storm could dump several inches of snow on parts of Pa.
More snow is on the way for parts of Pennsylvania.
A storm that will bring snow from the Midwest to the central Appalachians is predicted to take place from Wednesday evening into Thursday night, according to Accuweather.
“That storm will bring a general 1-3 inches of snow with locally higher amounts near the Great Lakes and the high ground from West Virginia to southwestern Pennsylvania,” Alex Sosnowski, a senior meteorologist for AccuWeather writes. “Intermittent snow that can coat the ground will spill east of the Appalachians to parts of Interstate 95 in the mid-Atlantic and New England from Thursday afternoon to Thursday night.”
In the Keystone State, a winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service for portions of southwest Pennsylvania from Thursday morning to Friday morning.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh issued a winter storm warning for Westmoreland and Fayette counties from 7 a.m. Thursday through 7 a.m. Friday. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are expected.
In Somerset County, a winter storm warning was also issued. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 7 inches across the higher terrain to the west of Route 219, with lesser amounts farther east, are expected.
In Indiana County, in the Indiana area, where the wind chill could be as low as zero on Wednesday night, 2 to 5 inches of snow are possible.
In Cambria, Clearfield and Elk counties, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday. Total snow accumulations from 2 to 3 inches are possible with locally higher amounts near and to the south of Route 22.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday in Warren County, according to the National Weather Service in State College. Additional snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are possible. The Warren area had 2 inches of snow on Wednesday.
And there’s more on the way. Another winter weather advisory has been issued for Warren County from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 3 inches are possible on Thursday.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday in McKean County. Additional snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are possible. Another winter weather advisory has been issued for Warren County from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 3 inches are possible on Thursday.
A lake-effect snow warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday for parts of Erie County, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, Ohio. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches are expected. The National Weather Service previously projected that the Erie area could see more than a foot of snow. Erie did get snow but not as much as anticipated. The Erie area had 1.1 inches of snow on Monday and 3.7 inches of snow on Tuesday.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Crawford County until 4 p.m. Wednesday with additional snow accumulations up to an inch are possible.
How does the Harrisburg area fare this week?
Snow showers are expected on Thursday and rain showers are expected on Saturday. A little snow is expected on Sunday afternoon and frigid temperatures are expected on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.

Wednesday night – Mostly clear, with a low around 14. West wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
Thursday – A chance of snow after 10 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 29. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. West wind 5 to 7 mph.
Saturday – A chance of rain and snow before 1 p.m., then rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Sunday – A chance of snow after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Monday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 20.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 14.
