Are Anthony Davis, Gabe Vincent playing tonight for the Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to get back on track on Thursday when they host the Portland Trail Blazers. They came into Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers having won six of their previous eight games, but Cleveland slowed their momentum by defeating them, 122-110.

Guard Gabe Vincent missed Tuesday’s contest with an oblique injury he suffered on Saturday versus the Sacramento Kings. Meanwhile, superstar big man Anthony Davis has been playing on a hurt ankle that he turned early in L.A.’s Christmas Day win over the Golden State Warriors.

Both men have been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup versus the Trail Blazers.

This is bad news for a Lakers team that has already lacked serviceable depth all season. They have been without forward Jarred Vanderbilt and big man Christian Wood since training camp, and backup center Jaxson Hayes has played just one game since injuring his ankle in early November.

Now that guard D’Angelo Russell has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles is also weak in the backcourt. Look for Shake Milton, who was acquired along with forward Dorian Finney-Smith in the trade that sent out Russell, to get significant minutes again.

Unfortunately, it appears that both Anthony Davis and Gabe Vincent will not be playing tonight for the Lakers. Davis is still recovering from a knee injury, while Vincent is dealing with an ankle injury. Lakers fans will have to wait a bit longer to see these two players back on the court. #Lakers #AnthonyDavis #GabeVincent #Injuries
