The Oregon Ducks got some tough news on Friday morning, with reports surfacing that 5-star true freshman quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele will enter the transfer portal after signing with the Ducks and enrolling this winter.
Sagapolutele flipped from the California Golden Bears to Oregon on signing day, joining the Ducks top-10 ranked recruiting class. However, the word is that he had goals of coming in and competing for the starting spot as a true freshman in 2025, but realized that was unlikely with the presence of Oregon QB Dante Moore.
Now, Sagapolutele will be entering the portal and looking for a new team after being with the Ducks for less than a month.
This isn’t great news for Oregon fans, who are already in a tough spot this week after losing the Rose Bowl to the Ohio State Buckeyes in blowout fashion and seeing their championship dreams fall short once again.
However, you can take it as good news that Moore is proving to be as good as fans hope, and will likely be a great leader for this team in 2025.
