With his 19th catch from Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, wide receiver Amari Cooper just surpassed 10,000 career receiving yards.
Cooper became just the 57th player in NFL history to record 10,000 yards receiving and is just one of eight active players to accomplish the feat. DeAndre Hopkins tops the list with nearly 13,000 yards while Mike Evans and Travis Kelce both have over 12,000 yards each. Davante Adams, Keenan Allen, Tyreek Hill, and Stefon Diggs round out the avtive-player10k-club. Not bad a bad list for Cooper to now be a part of.
Just two plays later, Cooper added another 30 yards as he caught a touchdown pass from Allen to put the Bills up 19-0 over the New York Jets.
While Cooper only has 297 of those yards in a Buffalo Bills uniform, it seems only fitting that the 10-year veteran out of Alabama should catch his milestone pass from Allen. Cooper started his career with the Las Vegas Raiders where he caught passes for 3183 yards, but midway through the 2018 season, the wide receiver was traded to the Dallas Cowboys where he recorded another 3893 yards over the next three and a half seasons. After the 2021 season, after his production dipped from 1114 yards to 865, the Cowboys sent Cooper on to the Cleveland Browns. While in Cleveland, the well-traveled receiver caught passes for another 2410 yards (1250 in 2022 and 1160 in 2023).
With just two seasons under 1000 receiving yards (2017 and 2021), Cooper would have hoped to have an impact in Cleveland for his third season and catching passes from Deshaun Watson. But it was not to be. In the first six games of the 2024 season, Cooper managed to only gain 250 yards – a pace that would have him on track for just 708 yards over the course of 17 games.
Then came the league’s trade season, and Amari Cooper found himself on his way to Buffalo. After just two games and 69 yards as a Bill, Cooper found himself with a wrist injury that would have him miss two games while wearing a cast. Cooper made his return in Week 11 and 55,12,and 95 yards over his next three games. Then the Bills put up 48 points and 559 total offensive yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 15, and Amari Cooper had exactly zero of those yards.
But Cooper didn’t mind. In fact, he has gone on record saying this is the most fun he has had playing football. He understands that he’s a veteran, that defenses are going to be keeping an eye on him, and that in that respect, he can draw attention away from younger players and let them start building their own NFL stories. And he said the only thing that matters is that the Buffalo Bills are winning.
Amari Cooper on being in Buffalo:
“It’s absolutely amazing. Honestly, I’ve been waiting my whole life to be on a team like this… I’m in Year 10. And so, what’s most important to me is winning. And so, I think we definitely have the formula.”

So, yes, it’s only fitting that the guy who has played all around the league but is loving being in Buffalo should get his 10,000th career yard in Orchard Park, NY.
In a historic milestone, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper has surpassed 10,000 career receiving yards. Cooper reached this impressive feat during the Bills’ recent game against the New England Patriots, solidifying his status as one of the top receivers in the league.
Cooper, known for his speed, agility, and exceptional route-running, has been a key playmaker for the Bills since joining the team in 2019. His ability to consistently make big plays and rack up yards has made him a fan favorite and a vital component of the Bills’ offense.
With this accomplishment, Cooper joins an elite group of receivers who have achieved 10,000 career receiving yards, further cementing his legacy as one of the best in the game. Congratulations to Amari Cooper on this incredible milestone, and here’s to many more yards and touchdowns to come. #GoBills #AmariCooper10K
