New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day have passed, which means there are only a few games left in the college football season.
No. 15 Ole Miss takes on Duke in the Gator Bowl on Thursday, as two 9-3 teams from the SEC and ACC, respectively, battle for one of the better bowl trophies among the non-CFP matchups.

The game marks quarterback Jaxson Dart’s final collegiate game, as he leaves the Rebels as one of their most prolific quarterbacks ever. Dart threw for 3,875 yards with 25 touchdowns to six interceptions this season.
Meanwhile, Duke will be without starting quarterback Maalik Murphy, who announced his transfer to Oregon State after the regular season. The Blue Devils are expected to turn to Henry Belin to lead the offense against Ole Miss.
Due to the terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, the Sugar Bowl was also postponed to Thursday, which means Georgia and Notre Dame will also be playing Jan. 2 instead of on the traditional New Year’s Day. The game was moved up to a 4 p.m. ET kickoff (3 p.m. locally in New Orleans) after it was initially reported to be a 24-hour postponement.
The winner of that game will go on to play Penn State in the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Florida.
