Dallas weather: Storms move through North Texas

It will be a stormy start to your Saturday in North Texas.

Rain and storms will continue through the late morning to about noon.

Watches and Warnings

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Ellis and Navarro County until 1 p.m.

A Tornado Watch was issued for Anderson, Freestone, and Limestone County until 5:00 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for much of North Texas until noon. That could be extended to our eastern areas.

Forecast

The area that will see the most rain and storms will be to the south and east of the Metroplex.

There will be flood risk, a hail risk and added wind risk to the southeast.

The strongest storms with the higher potential for severe storms will be east and southeast Texas.

In North Texas, we should see things dry out fairly quickly. In the afternoon, showers will exit to the east and we might see some sun break through and temperatures climb into the 60s.

Some showers could redevelop early in the evening.

7-Day Forecast

Sunday will be a much calmer day, but we do expect fog and low clouds in the morning.

Once that burns off, we should get well into the 60s to near 70 with partly to mostly sunny skies for the afternoon.

Monday continues to look extremely warm with everyone in the 70s and a few spots touching 80 with gusty winds ahead of a cold front.

Tuesday it will be dry, brisk and chilly with highs in the mid 50s. 

New Year’s Eve will drop into the 40s as winds diminish for those headed out.
