BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A new chapter in Caribbean cricket history is set to unfold as the West Indies Women’s cricket team gears up to host Bangladesh in their inaugural bilateral white-ball series on Caribbean soil.

Scheduled from January 19 to 31 at Warner Park, St. Kitts, the tour promises to showcase emerging talent, refine strategies, and build momentum for critical upcoming ICC tournaments.

Head coach Shane Deitz, brimming with anticipation, emphasized the significance of this historic series as a platform for both individual brilliance and team cohesion.

This ground-breaking series comprises three CG United One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is). It not only marks the first bilateral clash between the West Indies Women and Bangladesh but also heralds Bangladesh’s maiden white-ball tour of the Caribbean.

Speaking about the series, Deitz highlighted its importance as a springboard for the team’s future. “It’s crucial to get some combinations going. A few players are playing for positions too, so we need them to put their hands up. There are great opportunities for players here,” he said.

He further emphasized the need for robust combinations, stating, “Performing well under pressure and building consistency with bat and ball is essential. This series is an opportunity to bounce back and set a strong foundation for the qualifiers.”
