PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Four people were found dead inside a Pierce County home Tuesday.
According to Pierce County Sheriff’s Department detectives, reports first came in before 11 a.m. for a welfare check in the 18900 block of Eastwood Avenue East near South Hill. Officials found a man and woman dead inside the home.
After obtaining a warrant, detectives found two more bodies inside the home, bringing the total to four victims. All four people were adults.
Detectives told KING 5 they believe the incident was contained in the home and there is no ongoing threat to the community or outstanding suspects.
It is unclear what led up to the incident or what the cause of death was. Detectives did say the bodies were in a state of decomposition, so it could take some time to ID them and get a better idea of what led to their deaths.
According to PCSD, deputies previously made welfare checks at the home but did not have enough evidence to enter. Their most recent check was Dec. 23.
