Derius Davis has his second career receiving touchdown in as many weeks.
The Chargers started their second offensive drive on their own 9 yard line after Davis fair caught a Bryce Baringer punt. Los Angeles’ longest play over the first nine plays of the drive went for just 10 yards, when Justin Herbert checked down to a wide-open Hassan Haskins.
With 4th and 3 from the Patriots 42 yard line, Jim Harbaugh turned down a 59 yard field goal by Cameron Dicker to go for it. Herbert had plenty of time and found Quentin Johnston on a dig route for 19 yards to not only convert, but get the Chargers to the Patriots 23 yard line.
On the very next play, Herbert dropped back and saw Davis streaking to the end zone. The throw was a bit in front of him, but the diminutive returner laid out for the ball and got a hand on either end, pulling it in and securing the catch for his second touchdown of the year.
Dicker put the extra point through to give LA a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
In a thrilling matchup against the New England Patriots, Derius Davis of the New Orleans Saints made a jaw-dropping diving touchdown grab that left fans in awe. The play showcased Davis’ incredible athleticism and determination as he laid out to secure the ball in the end zone.
The highlight-reel catch not only energized the Saints’ offense but also lifted the spirits of fans in the stadium. Davis’ spectacular play will surely be remembered as one of the standout moments of the game, proving once again why he is a key playmaker for the team.
With plays like this, Derius Davis continues to solidify his reputation as a dynamic and clutch player in the NFL. Saints fans can’t wait to see what other incredible feats he will achieve on the field in the future.
