Detroit’s Isaiah Stewart suspended and fined by NBA after flagrant-foul ejection in loss to Pacers

Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended for two games and fined $45,000 by the NBA following his ejection for a flagrant foul in the team’s loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Stewart’s incident occurred in the third quarter of the game on Saturday when he got tangled up with Pacers forward Isaiah Jackson and appeared to hit him in the face as they were jockeying for position under the basket. The officials reviewed the play and assessed Stewart with a flagrant foul 2, resulting in his ejection from the game.

The NBA announced the suspension and fine on Sunday, citing Stewart’s “reckless and dangerous” actions on the court. Stewart will miss the Pistons’ upcoming games against the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks as a result of the suspension.

This is not the first time Stewart has been involved in a physical altercation on the court this season. Just last month, he was involved in an altercation with LeBron James that resulted in both players being ejected from the game.

Stewart has been a key player for the Pistons this season, averaging 8.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. His absence will be felt by the team as they look to bounce back from their loss to the Pacers and continue to improve throughout the season.
