Driver suffers ‘severe’ injuries as DPS chase ends in crash on Friday afternoon


HOCKLEY COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) – A pursuit involving DPS troopers and Hockley County sheriff’s deputies ended in a crash on Friday afternoon.

DPS says troopers were chasing a Chevrolet Corvette that had been reported stolen out of Wise County when the vehicle crashed near FM 2646 and Alaska Road at 1:08 p.m.

The driver suffered “severe” injuries and was taken to the hospital. The passenger bailed out of the vehicle around FM 2646 and FM 1585.

DPS says the passenger was briefly detained but released without any charges.
