The US presenter, known for hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show from 2001 to 2022, recently bought a house in the area with her wife, Portia de Rossi.
Moving to England following Donald Trump’s presidential victory, many have cited the result of the election as a key reason why the American pair moved over to the Cotswolds.
Insiders and pals of the couple have told American news outlet InTouch Weekly that their move had nothing to do with that, suggesting it was based on her relationship instead.

“Ellen’s decision to move to England is baffling if you just look at it as a reaction to the election or the shifting culture in the U.S., but it makes perfect sense when you look at the arc of her relationship with Portia,” the inside source alleged to InTouch Weekly.

The couple’s farmhouse is set within 43 acres of gardens, paddocks and fields and has six bedrooms, a gym, 55ft indoor pool, a separate guest cottage, an orchard, a wildflower meadow and hundreds of feet of river frontage.
It contains a mahogany toilet bought at auction when Sir Michael Caine sold his Oxfordshire mansion in 2022.
It was surrounded by floodwaters during Storm Bert but contrary to reports was not flooded.
The comedian, 66, ended an Instagram anniversary tribute to her wife with a message: “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did not flood.”

Last month, the couple were spotted at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub The Farmer’s Dog near Burford with friends including another local, singer James Blunt.
The 66-year-old was seen in the week beginning Monday, November 18, enjoying her time in the Oxfordshire pub just off the Asthall Barrow Roundabout.
