Eric Church realizes that on New Year’s Eve, people party sometimes a little too hard, and then in the morning on New Year’s Day, they have a bit of a hangover.
Eric recently shared with us what he believes is the perfect hangover cure for the New Year. He told us, “The best hangover cure – I’ve got two. One is 5-hour Energy [bottles], because of all the B-vitamins that are in it. You can start pounding those, and it’s either gonna work, or it’s gonna keep you up and prolong your misery.”
He added, “But the other one I have is just take two Advil and a beer in the morning. Hair of the dog, man – that works every time.”
The country star will be performing on New Year’s Bis Bash: Nashville, a star-studded televised entertainment special hosted by Keith Urban and Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith.
The celebration to ring in the new year will air live Tuesday, Dec. 31 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+*.

Church is a country music superstar who earned his status in the genre on his own terms, taking no bull, which Church says is a lot like his dad.
In a recent interview, we asked Eric about his father, Ken. He thought for a minute and told us, “My dad is a… I’m trying to find the right words to describe him. My dad is a great guy, honest guy, very call it like he sees it, which is where I get a lot of that.”
He continued of the man he got his name from (his middle name is Eric): “No BS. I’m gonna tell you how I feel whether you like it or not. I’m that guy; I’m me…My dad’s that way, so I get a lot of that from him. There’s also honesty and integrity that my dad carries himself with, which I’ve always admired.”
Before his Nashville bar opened earlier this year, Church was so devoted to his fans, dubbed The Church Choir, that he gave each one of them a deed and a physical brick from his revitalized six-story downtown Nashville establishment, Chief’s.
Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s.
Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
As we welcome in the new year, country music star Eric Church has a cure for those who may be feeling the effects of New Year’s Eve celebrations. In a recent interview, Church shared his secret to getting through the first day of the year feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
According to Church, the key is to spend some quality time outdoors, whether it’s going for a hike, taking a leisurely walk, or simply enjoying the fresh air. He believes that being in nature can help clear your mind and reset your spirit after a night of festivities.
Church also recommends starting the day with a hearty breakfast and staying hydrated throughout the day. He emphasizes the importance of taking care of yourself and listening to your body’s needs, especially after a night of indulgence.
So if you’re feeling a bit sluggish on New Year’s Day, take a page out of Eric Church’s book and spend some time outdoors, nourish your body with good food, and prioritize self-care. Here’s to a happy and healthy start to the new year!
