MultiVersus has really run the gamut of possible outcomes for a live-service game. When MultiVersus entered Beta in July 2022, it was met with a great deal of excitement from the gaming public, with it quickly becoming the most successful Steam launch in Warner Bros. history. But despite this initial fervor, MultiVersus soon began to lose players. MultiVersus went offline in June 2023, and returned in May 2024, where it was met with a divisive critical reception due to its monetization issues.
But despite MultiVersus‘ player-count continuing to dwindle, and Warner Bros. officially confirming that the game has “significantly underperformed,” MultiVersus is still delivering new content. After a two-week extension of Season 4, MultiVersus Season 5 is set to launch on February 4, and though developer Player First hasn’t revealed much about the upcoming season, there have been quite a few leaks surrounding potential roster additions.
MultiVersus may already boast its fair share of DC Comics heroes, but the recent reboot of the films could inspire a fun event.
Every Leaked Character Who Could Come to MultiVersus in Season 5
DC’s Aquaman
Back in October 2024, Twitter user @MVSDonkDonk claimed that DC’s Aquaman would probably be coming to MultiVersus with the release of Season 5, due to the character having received some updated files. Aquaman has been rumored to appear in MultiVersus since its Beta, so an upcoming release in Season 5 would make a lot of sense, especially given that fellow Justice League members Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are already in the fighting game.
Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny
The most recent leaks surrounding MultiVersus Season 5 suggest that Looney Tunes‘ Lola Bunny could be joining Aquaman in February. Leaker @AusilMVS took to Twitter earlier this month to claim that the long-rumored “C038” secret character in MultiVersus‘ files is actually Lola Bunny, a character who hadn’t been previously teased or leaked. Though Lola Bunny has her fans, many are disappointed that the next Looney Tunes character that might appear in MultiVersus won’t be the long-requested Daffy Duck.
According to these latest leaks, Aquaman will be added to MultiVersus at the start of Season 5, with Lola Bunny set to join the roster at the mid-season point.
The Wizard of Oz’s Wicked Witch of the West
When Aquaman was first leaked to appear in MultiVersus Season 5 back in October 2024, he was originally said to be coming to the platform-fighter alongside The Wizard of Oz‘s Wicked Witch of the West. According to the latest leaks, the Wicked Witch is still set to appear in MultiVersus, but not until Season 6 at the earliest.
