Craig Perry confirmed that Final Destination 6 or Final Destination: Bloodlines was indeed filming, and if things remain on schedule, the film will be slated for a 2025 release. Of course, details about the movie’s plot are being kept under wraps, but it’s obvious that the sixth installment will showcase the fundamental aspects of its predecessors. According to reports, Final Destination: Bloodlines will revolve around the life of an 18-year-old girl named Stefani who suffers from premonitions of dying in a tower accident in the 1960s.

It’s later revealed that the visions are actually about Stefani’s grandmother, who had been evading death for more than 50 years. However, visions mean that Death is looming over one’s head, and it won’t be long before it comes for whoever cheats it. Stefani learns that her grandmother defying the inevitable has resulted in the longevity of those who were supposed to die in the catastrophe. Death will come after not only those who survived but will also take their bloodline. Understandably, Final Destination 6 may follow the formulaic path, but unlike its predecessors, the sequel might finally talk about the reason why certain people have visions of the future.

No one similar cast has ever returned for a consecutive film in the franchise except for a few integral characters like Ali Larter’s Clear Rivers, who was in the first and the second films. As for the production and creative departments, it’s rumored that MCU’s Spider-Man Trilogy’s director Jon Watts is involved with the production. The movie was written by Wicked Wicked Games writer Lori Evans Taylor, while Zach Lipovsky, who directed 2018’s Freaks, and Adam B. Stein will be at the forefront directing the sequel.

According to Jeffrey Reddick, franchise creator and screenwriter for the original movie, it’s apparent that the sequel is going to be a true Final Destination movie, but it won’t be too dependent on the formula. The Final Destination films have thrived on the vitality of the franchise’s concept of introducing a new group every time who think they cheated Death, but it always comes to bite them at the end. Reddick implied that while the franchise has been pretty much formulaic with minor tweaks every time, Bloodlines will not be as predictable. Having said that, Reddick thinks that 18-year-old Stefani’s story will be more layered and expansive than the previous ones. He emphasized the fact that viewers should not believe that the new film will be like a deconstructive version of the original idea; rather, it would be more self-explanatory.
