Expected freezing conditions could close roads and interstates in New Orleans


NOPD Supt. Anne Kirkpatrick confirmed interstate and street closures will be activated as necessary to minimize traffic hazards and ensure public safety.

NEW ORLEANS — With expected freezing temperatures coming our way next week, city officials are prepared to shut down roads, interstates and ramps to minimize traffic hazards and ensure public safety.

On Friday, NOPD Supt. Anne Kirkpatrick released a list of possible roadway closures ahead of expected harsh weather conditions.

The exact timing will depend on how quickly the frigid air moves into the area.
