Sunshine will emerge this afternoon due to the high-pressure system over northern New England. Temperatures will be slightly warmer than on Christmas Day, reaching the upper 30s!
Southern New Englanders’ will be frustrated with the high pressure come Friday morning due to the cold conditions it’ll produce! Most communities start in the teens!
Thankfully, no shortage of sunshine on Friday aids in temperatures returning to about 40 degrees in the afternoon.
High pressure disembarks the northeast this weekend, opening Southern New England to the chance of precipitation. The first round arrives Saturday afternoon in the form of light rain showers.
Only a few tenths of an inch of remain is expected out of this initial wave of moisture. A more substantial amount of rain is slated for Sunday into Monday when a cold front sweeps through the region. The boundary will produce widespread steady rainfall, potentially impacting Monday morning’s commute.
More rain is in the forecast as the Calendar flips from 2024 to 2025! Yet, there is still some uncertainty when it comes to the exact timing and intensity of that system.

As we head into the end of the week, the forecast remains quiet and dry across much of the region. However, many are wondering just how much longer this streak of pleasant weather will last.
With no significant storms on the horizon, it looks like we can expect more of the same for the next few days. This means clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and minimal chances of rain.
But as we all know, weather can be unpredictable. So while the current forecast may be calm, it’s always wise to keep an eye on the latest updates and be prepared for any sudden changes.
For now, enjoy the tranquil weather while it lasts, and let’s hope that the sunshine sticks around a little while longer. Stay tuned for further updates on how long this dry spell will continue.
