Fortnite Godzilla x Kong event release date, time and how to take down a Titan | Gaming | Entertainment

Fortnite developer Epic Games has confirmed plans to hold a special Godzilla x Kong in-game event.

Just days after the release of update 33.20, Epic Games has detailed the brand new crossover event, which will be available on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android.

The Godzilla x Kong Titan Takedown event has a January 17 release date. There’s no official launch time, but expect the festivities to kick off at around 2pm GMT UK time.

As you can see from the trailer below, players can potentially cause chaos and take out the opposition by transforming into Godzilla and using its unique powers.

In order to become the titan, you’ll need to be the first player to discover a random portal and jump through.

Epic explains more: “Starting January 17, there’s a small chance for a portal to appear on the Battle Royale map.

“The first player to find and jump through it will emerge as the colossal titan Godzilla, who can Roar to reveal nearby players, send others flying with a Mighty Stomp Attack, and lay waste to players and structures with Heat Ray.”

In order to even the odds and give regular players a fighting chance, a number of powerful weapons and items will be available on the map.

This includes the unvaulted Rail Gun, as well as the defensive Shield Bubble item.

According to Epic Games, the player who deals the most damage to Godzilla will gain the Godzilla Medallion and the Burst Quad Launcher.

Battle Pass owners can complete quests in order to grab the Godzilla Exo-Spine Back Bling, the Crystal Fang Pickaxe, the Mothra Glider, and the Lil’ Godzilla Attack Emote.  If you complete all the Quests, you’ll unlock Godzilla Evolved’s Energized Godzilla Style.

There will also be a selection of items in the shop, such as the Mechagodzilla and Kong Bundle, which includes the reactive Mechagodzilla Outfit, as well as the Proton Drill Pickaxe, Kong’s Battle Axe Pickaxe, Proton Exo-Boosters Back Bling, B.E.A.S.T. Armorplate Back Bling, Roar Power Wrap, Cybernetic Scream Wrap and B.E.A.S.T. Glove Emote.
