From the Vault: Sam Clancy
Today, we are taking a trip down memory lane to revisit the career of former NBA player Sam Clancy.
Clancy was a standout athlete in both football and basketball during his college years at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a two-time All-American in basketball and was named the Big East Player of the Year in 1981.
After being drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1982 NBA Draft, Clancy went on to have a solid career in the league, playing for the Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics. He was known for his tenacity on the court and his ability to score and rebound effectively.
Although Clancy’s NBA career was cut short due to injuries, he left a lasting impact on the game and is remembered as a talented and hardworking player.
