How Drew Barrymore got revenge on cheating ex in hilarious incident

Drew Barrymore has revealed the hilarious way she got revenge on a cheating ex.

The actress, 49, detailed how she had uncovered her unnamed ex’s infidelity and decided to enlist the help of the other woman to get her own back on him.

Speaking on Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the Scream star told guest SZA: ‘I found out my ex-boyfriend was cheating on me. This was decades ago. I took all of his stuff in my house and I put it all in his car and then I rolled his car down his driveway and left it there and just walked away.

‘Then I made the girl he was cheating on me with meet me for drinks with him sitting there. I was like, “You’re gonna sit here and you’re gonna listen to the two of us talk! So shut up and listen!” And then I drove him home and I looked at him and I go, “Now get out.”

Barrymore said she and the mystery ex had since mended their relationship and that he was now a ‘dear friend.’ 

She said: ‘We were young and stupid! I did dumb things too!’

Barrymore – who shares two daughters with ex husband Will Kopelman, said she is on good terms with all of her exes.

She said of speaking with her cheating ex: ‘Later, I’m like, ‘Listen, you know what, we were just kids. I made mistakes too. And we’re human beings. And there was so much I loved about you. And can we be in each other’s lives?’

The TV personality has tied the knot three times, with her first marriage being to Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995. She then said ‘I do’ to Tom Green in 2001 until their divorce was finalized the following year. 

In 2012, the Never Been Kissed star married Will Kopelman and the pair divorced in 2016. 

The former couple share two daughters: Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10. 

In December 2023, she opened up about the split to People, and stated, ‘There was no scandal. 

‘Nothing went wrong, which is cleaner, but makes it harder and more confusing because there isn’t The Thing to point to.’ 

‘We tried so hard to make it work. [A friend] said to me, “Divorce is the death of a dream.” 

‘That’s exactly what it feels like, something so final you can’t get it back.’

However, while she feels inspired to start dating once again, she told CBS Mornings  in 2022 that had no intentions to get married again. 

‘I would maybe live with someone again, maybe, but I’ve had kids and there’s no way, I will never, ever, ever, get married again.’ 

In October 2023 the star admitted that the romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has inspired her to jump back into the dating field.

The star explained that the Bad Blood singer’s first date in September with the NFL pro after the Kansas City Chiefs’ win at Arrowhead Stadium gave her the motivation to consider putting herself out there again.

Drew explained she recently took her daughter to see the Eras Tour movie and stated, ‘There’s something about this human being that’s like pushing people to express themselves in a very joyous, positive way.’ 

‘I just want to say for me personally, I have been single for seven years, happily. Seeing her on that first date out there in the box with his family, I really had a big Oprah a-ha moment.’
