How to Transfer Data from Switch to Switch 2

Transferring data from one Nintendo Switch to another can be a daunting task, especially if you have a lot of saved games, screenshots, and other important files. However, with the right tools and a bit of know-how, you can easily move all your data from your old Switch to your new Switch 2.

There are a few different methods you can use to transfer data between Switch consoles, so let’s take a look at each one.

Method 1: Using the built-in transfer feature

The easiest way to transfer data from one Switch to another is to use the built-in transfer feature. Here’s how to do it:

1. Make sure both Switch consoles are connected to the internet and are updated to the latest software version.

2. Go to the System Settings on both consoles and select “Users” from the menu.

3. On the old Switch, select “Transfer Your User and Save Data” and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your data to the new Switch 2.

4. Once the transfer is complete, your data should now be on the new Switch 2.

Method 2: Using a microSD card

If you have a microSD card with enough storage space, you can also transfer data between Switch consoles using this method. Here’s how to do it:

1. Insert the microSD card into the old Switch console.

2. Go to the System Settings on the old Switch and select “Data Management” from the menu.

3. Select “Save Data/Screenshots” and choose which data you want to transfer to the microSD card.

4. Once the data has been transferred, remove the microSD card from the old Switch and insert it into the new Switch 2.

5. Go to the System Settings on the new Switch 2 and select “Data Management” from the menu.

6. Select “Save Data/Screenshots” and choose to transfer the data from the microSD card to the new Switch 2.

Method 3: Using a PC

If you don’t have a microSD card or prefer not to use the built-in transfer feature, you can also transfer data between Switch consoles using a PC. Here’s how to do it:

1. Connect the old Switch to your PC using a USB cable.

2. Open the System Settings on the old Switch and select “Users” from the menu.

3. Select “Transfer Your User and Save Data” and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your data to the PC.

4. Once the data has been transferred to the PC, disconnect the old Switch and connect the new Switch 2.

5. Open the System Settings on the new Switch 2 and select “Users” from the menu.

6. Select “Transfer Your User and Save Data” and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer the data from the PC to the new Switch 2.

By following these methods, you can easily transfer all your data from one Nintendo Switch to another without losing any important files. Whether you use the built-in transfer feature, a microSD card, or a PC, transferring data between Switch consoles is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps.
