‘I was a s*** person to her’

Lil Yachty has finally opened up about his past romance with Mariah The Scientist, who is now in a relationship with Young Thug. During an appearance on Club Shay Shay, host Shannon Sharpe brought up Mariah’s recent Caresha Please interview, where she reflected on their history. Initially caught off guard, Yachty admitted for the first time that they dated and acknowledged he was not a good boyfriend.

“I was a sht person to her,” Yachty confessed. “She was really great. So great, so I get it. She was a great person though, man.” Mariah previously shared that she wrote two songs for Yachty while they were in college, but he never listened to them. “I put them on an iPod, I gifted it to him, I signed the back, it was real cute,” she said. “And he told me he did not want to listen to it because, ‘I don’t wanna sht on it.’”

Despite their past, Yachty expressed appreciation for how Mariah spoke about him. “That’s the first time she ever spoke on us ever publicly,” he said. “I honestly think that she was pretty respectful. She didn’t sh*t on me … I brought it upon myself. She didn’t tell no lies. … Shouts out to her. Tons of love, and I respect her.”

I was a s person to her

As I sit here reflecting on my past actions, I can’t help but feel immense guilt and shame for the way I treated her. I was selfish, thoughtless, and downright cruel at times. I took her for granted, disrespected her, and hurt her in ways that I can never fully make amends for.

I was so caught up in my own problems and insecurities that I failed to see the pain I was causing her. I was emotionally unavailable, unreliable, and unappreciative of all that she did for me. I let my own issues cloud my judgment and I pushed her away when all she wanted was to love and support me.

Looking back, I realize now just how much she deserved better than what I gave her. She deserved someone who would cherish her, respect her, and treat her with the love and kindness that she deserved. But instead, I was a s person to her.

I can only hope that she has found happiness and peace in spite of my actions. And I can only strive to be a better person moving forward, learning from my mistakes and vowing to never treat anyone else in such a deplorable way.

I am truly sorry for the pain I caused her and I will carry that regret with me for the rest of my days. She deserved better than what I gave her, and for that, I will always be sorry.
