Gen Beta

Kids born between 2025 and 2039 will be known as Gen Beta. The term was coined by a Futurist Mark McCrindle. The world experienced its last generational shift in 2010 with the birth of Gen Alpha, a generation that will conclude in 2024. He explains in his blog the reason why the last two generations were named ‘Alpha and Beta’ instead of alphabets. The change is to “signify not just new generations, but the first generations that will be shaped by an entirely different world”.
Children born in 2025 are projected to make up 13% to 16% of the global population. They are set to grow up in a world shaped by rapid technological advancements, where artificial intelligence and virtual reality will play a central role in day-to-day life.
Today the world is driven by technology and most people of earlier generations seem to be playing catch up, which gives the Gen Beta an advantage over others. However, experts believe that this will result in a lack of creativity and interpersonal skills.

Experts also predict that Gen Beta will prioritize sustainability, as they are set to inherit a world burdened with pressing challenges such as climate change, overpopulation, and widespread environmental issues. This generation is expected to play a pivotal role in addressing these global crises, shaping a future where sustainable living and innovative solutions become integral to daily life.
