The past two seasons have been among the best in Ole Miss’ modern history, with the Rebels going 21-5 over that stretch and winning a pair of bowl games. It marked the first time since 1959-60, four years before the passage of the Civil Rights Act, that the program had won at least 10 games in back-to-back seasons.
Among the most important figures in that surge was Jaxson Dart.
Since transferring over from USC, the 6-foot-2 quarterback played a prominent role in explosive Rebels offenses under coach Lane Kiffin. Over his three seasons as a starter, he threw for nearly 11,000 yards for teams that finished in the top 30 nationally in scoring offense in each season, including a No. 3 finish in 2024 (38.6 points per game).

After the last of those seasons, and with four years of eligibility used up, Dart’s future awaits.

The former Rebels star declared for the 2025 NFL draft ahead of Ole Miss’ blowout victory against Duke in the Gator Bowl, a game in which Dart threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns.
A major step for him in that journey to the NFL will come this weekend, when he and dozens of other draft hopefuls descend on Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl.
Here’s what you need to know about Dart and whether he’ll be competing in the Senior Bowl:
Is Jaxson Dart playing in the Senior Bowl?
Dart has accepted an invitation to play in Saturday’s Senior Bowl, a move that was announced shortly after his NFL draft declaration.
As of Jan. 24, Dart was one of eight quarterbacks set to take part in the showcase, a group that also includes Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Ohio State’s Will Howard. He was one of six Ole Miss players in the event, with defensive lineman Walter Nolen, defensive lineman Princely Umanmielen, defensive back Trey Amos, defensive lineman Jared Ivey and kicker Caden Davis also joining him.
The Senior Bowl, which is held at South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium, is one of the preeminent showcases for NFL aspirants. A player’s performance at the event can typically affect their draft stock, whether positively or negatively. The 2024 Senior Bowl had more than 900 NFL personnel in attendance, including what the event said were “key decision-makers” from all 32 of the league’s franchises.

Jaxson Dart NFL draft projections
Dart is generally considered to be among the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft, albeit in a relatively weak class of signal-callers in which Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders are the only players at the position comfortably in the first round of most mock drafts.
Though he’s behind Ward and Sanders, several outlets have Dart among the top handful of quarterbacks available. CBS Sports has him at No. 4, behind, in order, Ward, Sanders and Milroe. The outlet ranks him as the No. 80 overall available prospect. ESPN’s Mel Kiper is even higher on Dart, placing him at No. 3 in his latest quarterback rankings.
“Mobile, he’s athletic,” Kiper wrote of Dart in January. “He’s a tough kid and he can make NFL ‘wow’ throws. We saw that with him rolling left and rolling right.”
Jaxson Dart stats
Over the course of his four years in college, Dart threw for 11,970 yards, 81 touchdowns and 27 interceptions while completing 65.2% of his passes and averaging 9.2 yards per attempt.
He saved his best for last, completing 67.3% of his throws for 7,643 yards, 52 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in his final two seasons at Ole Miss. His 4,279 yards as a senior in 2024 ranked him third among all FBS players, behind only Ward and Syracuse’s Kyle McCord.
He was a capable runner, too, rushing for 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns in his three seasons at Ole Miss.
As the Senior Bowl approaches, many fans are wondering if Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart will be participating in the prestigious showcase event. Dart, who transferred to Ole Miss from USC, has been making waves in the college football world with his impressive performances this past season.
While there has been no official confirmation from Dart or the Senior Bowl organizers, many are hopeful that he will be showcasing his skills at the event. If Dart does indeed participate, it will be a great opportunity for NFL scouts and fans to see him compete against other top college prospects.
Keep an eye out for any updates on whether Jaxson Dart will be playing in the Senior Bowl, as his presence would undoubtedly add even more excitement to an already highly anticipated event.
