The U.S. bond markets will close early on Tuesday, Dec. 31, with trading slated to stop for the year at 2 p.m. ET. and remain closed on New Year’s Day, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
The first day of trading in the new year will occur on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
The next scheduled market closure will occur on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, in observance of the national day of mourning following the death of former President Jimmy Carter.
