It sounds like Wade Barrett will replace Pat McAfee on next week’s WWE Raw

Pat McAfee is missing next week’s (Jan. 20) episode of WWE Raw in Dallas due to his gig with ESPN covering the College Football Playoff National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

This is the part where Corey Graves would normally be called up from the bench to replace Pat as Raw’s color commentator for the night. However, Corey decided to air his grievances on social media regarding WWE’s decision to demote him off the main roster. It’s not clear what Graves’ status is with the company after he didn’t appear on this week’s episode of NXT, was replaced on commentary for WWE Speed, and deleted the posts.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL happens to be coming to Raw on Monday night, so I speculated that maybe he will replace McAfee on commentary if Graves does not return. But on tonight’s (Jan. 17) episode of SmackDown, color commentator Wade Barrett confirmed that he will be at Raw on Monday night, so he now looks like the guy who will fill in for McAfee in Dallas while the Corey Graves drama lingers on.

What do you make of this latest development, Cagesiders?

There have been rumors circulating that Wade Barrett will be stepping in to replace Pat McAfee as a commentator on next week’s WWE Raw. With McAfee’s busy schedule and other commitments, it seems like Barrett might be the perfect fit to fill in for him. Barrett has experience in the wrestling world, having been a wrestler himself and previously working as a commentator for WWE. Fans are excited to see how Barrett will bring his own unique style and insight to the commentary table. Stay tuned for more updates on this potential change in the upcoming episode of Raw.
