Jeremiyah Love sported a knee brace in recent games due to an injury but he might not need it Monday night.
As Notre Dame preps for the national championship against Ohio State, Love said it would be a game-time decision for the brace. Either way, he feels good.
If Love feels good, then the Notre Dame offense could be humming with one of their best players operating at full capacity.
“It’ll be a game time decision for me,” Love said via Sirius XM. “I feel really good with my knee without the brace, and it’ll just be a game time decision. The brace is great, you know, it gives me that extra security, gives me that extra confidence in my knee.
“But I don’t really think that I need it going into this game, because it feels great whenever I’m practicing and all that. But, you know, this is gonna be one game of many more to come. So really, it’s gonna be a game time decision. And I might end up wearing it just for my security overall.”
This season, Love has 1,112 yards, 17 touchdowns, 7.1 yards per carry, 26 receptions, 232 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions.
Love had to sport a brace throughout the playoffs, but he certainly got used to it. Not only that, he pulled off an insane hurdle against Penn State in the CFP semis.
“It was a big adjustment when the game first started,” Love said. “I feel like it kind of restricts me, like, as far as, like, my speed and my mobility and stuff like that. But as the game went on, it kind of loosened up. I kind of gained more confidence in my knee. Felt more comfortable with it … I kind of just said (with the hurdle), just do it … Whenever I hurdle somebody, if they catch my leg, they catch my leg, if they don’t, they don’t. So it’s a huge leap of faith. Literally.”
As a member of the Class of 2023, Love was a four-star recruit out of Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 2 overall prospect in the state, the No. 5 running back in the class and the No. 77 overall prospect in the class.

According to sources close to the team, Love’s injury is not believed to be serious, but his status for this weekend’s game against Boston College remains uncertain. Head coach Brian Kelly stated that Love will be a ‘game time decision’ and they will continue to evaluate his progress leading up to kickoff.
Love has been a key player for the Fighting Irish this season, leading the team in rushing yards and touchdowns. His presence on the field is crucial for Notre Dame’s offensive strategy, and his potential absence could have a significant impact on the outcome of the game.
