Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Monday he expected to lose both coordinators to head coaching gigs.
He’s already right.
The Chicago Bears hired Ben Johnson on Monday afternoon as head coach, and we’re starting to get a better idea about where defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn might be heading.
Glenn is set to conduct a second round of interviews starting on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Monday that Glenn will interview in-person with the New York Jets on Tuesday and if no deal is met, he will meet with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday.
“Glenn also has interest from Jacksonville and Las Vegas, though no meetings are set. The Jets and Saints have been viewed as the frontrunners,” Schultz posted on X.

Glenn and the Lions‘ season came to a stunning end on Saturday when they were shocked by the Washington Commanders in the NFC divisional round.
In addition to sending the Lions into offseason mode, the loss has also reportedly put the NFL coaching cycle into hyperspeed.
BREAKING NEWS:Bears hire Ben Johnson as head coach, stealing away Lions offensive coordinator
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday the Lions’ loss will allow all the teams who were waiting to chat with Glenn and Johnson to get the ball rolling sooner and no longer have to wait until the week between the NFC championship and the Super Bowl to conduct in-person interviews.
As the Lions try and forget about the heartbreaking loss to the Commanders and turn the leaf to 2025, it’s looking increasingly likely that finding two new coordinators will be on the to-do list.
The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are set to meet with Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to discuss their vacant head coaching positions. Glenn, who has been with the Lions for the past two seasons, has garnered praise for his work with the team’s defense.
Both the Jets and Saints are in the market for a new head coach after parting ways with their previous coaches at the end of the season. The Jets finished the season with a 4-13 record, while the Saints ended with a 9-8 record.
Glenn, a former NFL cornerback who played for the Jets, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, and New Orleans Saints during his playing career, has been widely regarded as a rising star in the coaching ranks. It will be interesting to see how these interviews play out and if Glenn will ultimately land one of these coveted head coaching positions. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
