Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is officially one of the five finalists for the NFL’s MVP award given on Feb. 8.
Burrow is a finalist along with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
In addition to MVP, Burrow is also a finalist for the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year and AP Comeback Player of the Year. Burrow led the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns last season. After a grusome knee injury that ended his 2023 campaign, Burrow went on to have his best professional season and that’s why he will likely win Comeback Player of the Year Award.
A panel of 50 media members who cover the NFL submitted their votes for the various AP awards before the playoffs began. These awards are based off production in the regular season, not the postseason.
Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and defensive end Trey Hendrickson are up for AP awards as well. Chase is a finalist for Offensive Player of the Year after a historic season ending with a triple crown honor. Hendrickson is a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Chase and Hendrickson both earned first-team AP All-Pro honors for their performances in the 2024 season.
Hendrickson led the NFL in sacks with 17.5 and Chase led the league in catches, yards and touchdowns. He is likely to win the Defensive Player of the Year award this year. Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II and Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt are finalist with Hendrickson for the prestigious award.
