As a Julia-style enthusiast, I’m always fascinated by her eye-catching fashion choices, which look like something else.

The new look for 2025 was a pixie cut that she did herself and was inspired by a famous character from a 1994 Jim Carrey comedy.

You know Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

“I was going for Ace Ventura, like sleazy guy, I don’t know, I’m just into that right now,” she told Page Six on the red carpet.

Ace Ventura’s iconic 1950s pompadour-mohawk-flattop hybrid, aka “quiff,” had many forms if you remember some of the film’s most ridiculous scenes.

Julia had to undergo a major cut to achieve the pet detective’s signature look. “It was a long time coming. I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time,” she said of her new do. “And you know, sometimes in life, you just gotta take the plunge and do it. It’ll grow back, it’s just hair.”

On Jan. 14, Julia shared a TikTok with the viral “girl don’t do it” sound revealing the moment she cut her hair. She captioned the video, “Immediately regretted it,” but who is she kidding? Everybody loved it.
