No months-long deliberation will commence for Khalil Mack. After the Chargers’ wild-card defeat in Houston, Mack indicated he would ponder retirement. That process is now over, and the veteran edge rusher will test free agency for the first time.
Mack will indeed play in 2025, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This will allow for a free agency bid, though the Chargers are interested in bringing back the former Defensive Player of the Year. Jim Harbaugh mentioned Mack as a potential top priority for his team, though it will be interesting to see if Mack — who was tied to a six-year extension agreed to shortly after he joined the Bears — will consider other teams given that he has never reached free agency.
More to come.
After much speculation and anticipation, it has been officially confirmed that Khalil Mack will be returning for the 2025 season with the Chicago Bears. The star defensive end, known for his ferocious pass-rushing ability and game-changing plays, has been a cornerstone of the Bears’ defense since being acquired in a blockbuster trade in 2018.
Mack’s return is sure to excite fans and teammates alike, as his presence on the field has proven to be a difference-maker time and time again. With his combination of speed, strength, and football IQ, Mack is a force to be reckoned with and a nightmare for opposing offenses.
As the Bears look to make a playoff push in the upcoming season, having Mack back in the lineup will undoubtedly bolster their chances of success. His leadership, skillset, and relentless motor will be invaluable assets as the team looks to compete at the highest level.
So mark your calendars and get ready for another electrifying season of Khalil Mack wreaking havoc on the gridiron. The Mack Attack is back, and it’s going to be a sight to see. Bear down, Chicago!
