KSI ‘set for stunning boxing fight with ex-Chelsea and England star’ in first outing since Tommy Fury defeat

KSI’s comeback fight will be a shock tilt with former Chelsea and England left-back Wayne Bridge, reports claim.

‘The Nightmare’ has fought a whole host of celebrity names under his promotion Misfits Boxing including Tommy Fury and Logan Paul.

He was previously linked with a stunning fight against Wayne Rooney, but a deal failed to materialise.

Although, a stunning report from the Daily Mail has suggested he could well be facing another former England international in Bridge.

Bridge made 36 appearances for his country, and was an established Premier League defender, having spells at Manchester City, Brighton and West Ham.

But he was most notorious for his spell at Chelsea, where he made 87 appearances, and scored one famous goal to eliminate Arsenal‘s invincibles from the UEFA Champions League in 2003.

The now 44-year-old does have prior experience in the boxing ring, having beaten reality TV star Spencer Matthews in a charity clash seven years ago.

But this will be a seriously uphill battle, given KSI has been defeated just once in his boxing career so far against a natural operator in Fury.

talkSPORT understands the comeback bout will form part of a three-fight plan for KSI, which was revealed by Mams Taylor last week.

An announcement is expected imminently according to reports, and could even come tonight at Misfits 20 headlined by Darren Till vs Anthony Taylor.

His manager Taylor insisted 2025 would be a busy year for the British influencer-turned-boxer.

He told talkSPORT.com: “KSI will fight three times this year.

“Fight 1 will be a great surprise and very interesting. Fight 2 and 3, if people are worried we will take the same route as Jake…

“He will not be fighting retired MMA fighters, these will be serious opponents.

“It will be epic and I can’t wait to announce it all, but for now focus will be on fight one and his huge comeback.”

KSI hasn’t fought since a narrow defeat to Fury, which left him furious.

The British star was extremely disappointed with the judges’ scorecard, and hasn’t fought since that famous night in October 2023.

Any showdown with Bridge will likely be another commercial blockbuster, with fans keen to see how his rival will do when swapping a pair of boots for a pair of gloves.

KSI could then face bigger names with a short-list including UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Despite UFC kingpin Dana White’s claim that the fight is a no-go, Taylor insists talks have been held with McGregor’s team.

He added: “There are talks taking place, and talks are leading to more talks.

“I know he’s interested for a fact. I think no fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor.

“I think all sides are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell. There is an underlying respect and disdain there too.

“I think it will be a massive, massive fight and I can’t think of a fight that would be bigger for Conor in terms of numbers.”
