Lainey Wilson includes local stop on upcoming ‘Whirlwind’ tour

Lainey Wilson will perform at Pine Knob Music Theatre on Sept. 26 as part of her “Whirlwind” world tour, the singer’s team announced Friday.

Tickets for the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer’s show go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 7 via Ticketmaster channels. Presales start at 8 a.m. Tuesday, starting with members of Wilson’s Wild Horses fan club.

Muscadine Bloodline and Lauren Watkins will open the show, part of a 30-date amphitheater and arena run which kicks off Aug. 14 in Phoenix and wraps Nov. 8 in Florida.

Wilson’s 2024 album “Whirlwind,” released in August, debuted at No. 8 on Billboard’s album chart and is nominated for Best Country Album at Sunday’s Grammy Awards. The set includes the singles “Hang Tight Honey” and “4x4xU.”

Wilson, 32, won Entertainer of the Year at 2023’s Country Music Association Awards.

The Louisiana native’s last area performance was in July 2024 when she was one of the headliners of the Faster Horses festival.
