Man charged in Oxford Christmas Eve shooting that killed 1, injured 2


WARREN, Mich. – A Flint man has been charged in in a shooting that left one person dead and injured two others on Christmas Eve in Oxford.

The shooting happened before 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2024, on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford roads.

Police said Malik Letroy Webb, 29, shot and killed a woman who stopped to help him after he drove his car into a ditch. She has been identified as Barbara Wolf, 71, of Oxford Township.

He is also accused of shooting and injuring Wolf’s daughter, who was in the car with her, and a 56-year-old Oxford man who stopped to help too.

Witnesses told investigators that Wolf pulled behind Webb’s vehicle and had stopped to help him when she was shot and killed and her daughter was shot and injured. The 56-year-old man was shot in the arm.

Wolf was pronounced dead at a hospital. The other two victims were treated at a hospital where one is in serious condition with multiple significant injuries and the other has been released, according to police.

A 39-year-old Oxford Township woman had been at the Park and Ride when Webb placed a gun to her head in a failed attempt to drive away in her vehicle, according to police.

Webb was taken into custody and police recovered a 9mm handgun they believe was used during the shooting.

Webb has been charged with the following:

  • One count of felony murder, with carjacking as the underlying felony.

  • Three counts of assault with intent to murder.

  • Three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault).

  • Carjacking.

  • Carrying a concealed weapon.

  • Weapons — firearm — possession by a prohibited person.

  • Nine counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony — third offense.

Webb is expected back in court on Jan. 6, 2025. He is being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail.
