Martin Lawrence is getting candid about the details of his daughter Jasmin Lawrence’s wedding to Eric Murphy.

In the latest episode of Sherri, the Bad Boys actor, 59, revealed that he is planning to let Eric’s comedian father, Eddie Murphy, 63, take the lead when it comes to toasts during the wedding reception.

“I’m gonna let Eddie do the toasts. He’s funnier,” Martin said.

When host Sherri Shepherd asked him if he was going to just “sit there and let Eddie get all the laughs,” Martin replied, “I don’t know. I might say something.”

“I might be crying,” he added, before saying while exaggerating sobs, “ ‘I just want to say this is a special moment.’ You know, I might be like that.”

The Martin star previously revealed that he and Eddie decided that he would pay for the nuptials. He told Shepherd, “[Eddie] said, ‘I paid for the last six weddings.’ You know, ‘cause Eddie got a lot of children. So, he said, [you’re] paying for this one. I don’t have a problem with it.”

Martin said the wedding money will go toward “what my daughter wants” — and that included the wedding menu. He said the food at the ceremony would be “whatever my daughter’s menu is.”

Eddie’s son popped the question to Martin’s daughter on Nov. 27 in a room filled with candles and roses. A video posted of the proposal showed Eric getting down on one knee, as Jasmin responded, “It’s beautiful. Oh my gosh.” She then said “yes” and shared a kiss with her him.

When Shepherd asked about how he felt about his daughter’s fiancé and whether he had to “lay down some rules” during their courtship, Martin said, “Nah because he’s so chill and cool.”
