Meta Quest Preps Major VR Concert with Shawn Mendes

Meta has teamed up with several companies to produce a VR concert for its Meta Quest headset featuring Shawn Mendes at Red Rocks.

Meta is working with Dorsey Pictures, 7 Cinematics, and Light Sail VR to create the VR production. The 180-degree experience filmed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado offers one of the most up-close experiences you can get without being in attendance at the actual show.

The VR concert will premiere on Friday, January 24 at 5 pm PT in Meta Horizon Music Valley. Meta Quest 3S, Quest 3, Quest 2, and Quest Pro owners can currently RSVP for the Shawn Mendes concert and subscribe to further events.

The concert will feature Shawn Mendes’ hit songs including “Stitches,” “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” “In My Blood,” “Why Why Why,” and more. The concert was custom-made to be experienced in VR headsets and has a run-time of 83 minutes. The filming was designed to give the audience a front row seat for his captivating Friends & Family Performance, taking advantage of the venue’s stunning scenery and natural acoustics.

Replays of the Shawn Mendes concert will be available for a limited time in Meta Horizon Music Valley.
