Michael C. Hall Says Production Has Begun On ‘Dexter: Resurrection’
Sound the alarm.
Michael C. Hall set the internet on fire on Friday, confirming production is officially underway on the new Paramount+ with Showtime series Dexter: Resurrection. The continuation of Dexter: New Blood, set in the present day, will premiere in the summer.
Hall will return as America’s favorite fictional serial killer, Dexter Morgan, alongside David Zayas as Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
“Hey, what’s up? It’s Michael C. Hall. I am on the set for the first official day of production for Dexter: Resurrection,” Hall said in a video shared on the official Showtime Dexter Instagram page. “I’m looking forward to another thrill ride, and when all is said and done, to you taking the ride with us. Stay tuned,” he added.
No official synopsis has been released for Dexter: Resurrection but viewers got a sneak peek at what happened after the lights went dark on Dexter: New Blood via the premiere episode of Dexter: Original Sin. The prequel series, which drops new episodes weekly on Fridays, opened with the moments after Dexter was shot by his son Harrison in the limited series revealing the elder Morgan survived. While undergoing surgery, Dexter had a “life flashes before your eyes” moment and relived his experiences which Patrick Gibson plays out as a serial killer-in-training in the prequel.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Clyde Phillips, who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
