Neeraj Chopra, India’s celebrated javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medalist, has announced his marriage to Himani Mor. The announcement was made via an Instagram post, which has since garnered widespread attention and warm wishes from fans and well-wishers.In his post, Chopra shared a picture from the wedding ceremony, accompanied by a heartfelt caption in both Hindi and English. He wrote, “Jeevan ke naye adhyay ki shuruaat apne parivaar ke saath ki. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after. नीरज हिमानी ‘bound by love’.”

Chopra’s uncle, Bhim, confirmed the wedding took place in India. He declined to reveal the specific location. Bhim also confirmed the honeymoon but didn’t disclose their destination. “Yes, the marriage took place in India two days back. I can’t tell the place where it took place,” he said.

“The girl is from Sonipat and she is studying in the US. They have left the country for honeymoon and I am not aware of the places where they are going. We wanted to keep it like that.”

Neeraj Chopra’s journey to stardom began with his historic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, making him a household name in India and an inspiration for aspiring athletes. Following his recent silver at the Paris Games, Chopra trained in South Africa under the guidance of Czech javelin legend Jan Zelezny.

Bringing World-Class Javelin Competition to India

Chopra also revealed plans for hosting a Continental Tour Javelin-Only competition in India, scheduled for May this year. While the venue is yet to be finalised, the event will feature top male and female javelin throwers from around the world, with Chopra leading the roster.

“It has been a longstanding dream of mine to organise and bring a world-class javelin competition to India. With the help of JSW Sports and the Athletics Federation of India, we are making this happen. I am sure that my fellow athletes and the fans in India will both create an experience that will be spoken about for a long time. I am excited to see how big we can make this,” Chopra stated in a release by JSW Sports Media.

Chopra aims to establish the event as an annual fixture in the global athletics calendar, with plans to include additional track and field disciplines in the future.
