The Brooklyn Nets (12-19) have been dealing with injuries all season and recently, it seems like the injuries have been too much for them to overcome to continue winning games. In Friday’s 96-87 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Brooklyn missed a lot of players in its rotation, but it looks like a few of those players are likely to be back in the lineup.

The Nets announced on Saturday that forward Cam Johnson and guard Cam Thomas are probable for Sunday’s game at the Orlando Magic. Johnson missed Friday’s loss due to a right hip contusion that he picked up in a loss at the Milwaukee Bucks and Thomas has missed the past 13 games for the Nets due to a left hamstring strain that he sustained in a win at the Golden State Warriors.

Johnson and Thomas being listed as probable is good for a variety of reasons, mostly due to the fact that both players are key members of the rotation and are two of the best scorers on the team. Johnson is in the midst of the best season of his career as he is averaging 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 49.2% from the field and 42.9% from three-point land.

Thomas, who is averaging 24.7 points per game, is the team’s leading scorer and is also having the best season of his career after coming into this year as the primary scorer for a rebuilding Nets team. If Thomas is able to return, Brooklyn will be more than grateful for his presence, especially in the absence of Dennis Schroder and with players like Ziaire Williams and Trendon Watford still out of action.

The good news for the Nets is that Ben Simmons will be returning to the lineup as well after missing Friday’s loss to the Spurs due to his lower back injury management program. In the five games that Simmons has played since Schroder was traded to the Golden State Warriors, the former LSU Tiger is averaging 9.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50.0% from the field.

The Brooklyn Nets’ Cam Thomas and Cam Johnson are both listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Orlando Magic. Thomas, the rookie guard, has been dealing with a sprained ankle but is expected to suit up for the game. Johnson, the forward acquired in a trade with the Phoenix Suns, is also likely to play despite a minor knee issue. Both players have been key contributors off the bench for the Nets this season and their availability will provide a boost to the team’s depth. Stay tuned for updates on their status as game time approaches.
