Nick Sirianni will talk to everyone before deciding whether to play Saquon Barkley

Will the Eagles let running back Saquon Barkley attempt to get the 101 rushing yards necessary to break the single-season rushing record?

It’s still TBD. And the decision will be made after head coach Nick Sirianni talks to pretty much everyone in the building.

“I’ll talk to our staff, I’ll talk to the players, I’ll talk to [General Manager] Howie [Roseman], I’ll talk to Mr. Lurie. I’ll talk to everybody to try and make sure I’m making the best decision for the football team,” Sirianni said Tuesday on WIP radio in Philadelphia, via ESPN.com.

The question is simple to articulate, hard to answer: “What’s the best thing for the team and then also what’s the best things for the individuals going for the record?”

The best thing for the team is to rest Barkley against the Giants. The best thing for Barkley is to chase history.

If Barkley gets 101 or more yards and emerges unscathed, great. If he gets injured, not great.

Sirianni can talk to whoever he wants. In the end, it’s his decision.

Unless he lets Big Dom make it.

Nick Sirianni, the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, is not taking any chances when it comes to star running back Saquon Barkley. After Barkley suffered a devastating ACL injury last season, Sirianni wants to make sure he is fully healthy and ready to return to the field before making any decisions.

In a recent press conference, Sirianni announced that he will be meeting with Barkley personally to discuss his health and readiness to play. “Saquon is a valuable player for our team, and we want to make sure he is 100% before putting him back on the field,” Sirianni said. “I will be talking to him, our medical staff, and other coaches before making any decisions about his playing time.”

This cautious approach demonstrates Sirianni’s commitment to the well-being of his players and the importance of making informed decisions. While fans may be eager to see Barkley back in action, it is clear that Sirianni is prioritizing his long-term health and success. Stay tuned for updates on Barkley’s status as the Eagles continue their preseason preparations.
