NMA – EPL GW-24 FPL Player Picks
GW-24 features Liverpool at Everton making up their weather-postponed derby to make a two-team mini-double. It’s a big opportunity to rack up points, and just to make it sporting, the Toffees are home twice while Pool is away twice, so there are attractive FPL assets to be had from both.
Whether you’re looking for a captain, differentials, or reliable assets, here are the top FPL picks for the week, sorted by position.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Pickford (£4.6m, Everton vs Leicester, Everton vs Liverpool)
Pickford at home twice is a solid pick for the mini-dgw, offering both save points and clean sheet potential. He’s the second-highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL and has kept eight clean sheets this season.
Defenders
Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m – at Bournemouth, at Everton)
Liverpool’s high-ceiling attacking right-back is one of the most mouth-watering prospects for the mini-dgw. He has seven goal involvements, is on right-side set pieces, and is constantly creating chances. With Pool keeping nine clean sheets (six with Alisson in goal), he has both defensive and attacking upside. If you can afford a premium defender, TAA has huge potential.

Ola Aina (£5.4m, Nott’m Forest vs Brighton)
Aina has accumulated 42 points in seven games, scoring once and providing an assist. He has blanked only twice during this period (the two times editor Jeff started him), highlighting his consistency. Facing a Brighton side that has struggled for stability this season, Aina could benefit from playing at home. Currently owned by 29% of managers, his price is likely to rise soon. Caveat: Editor Jeff has moved Aina into his starting-XI, benching Chalobah — YMMV).

Lewis Hall (£5.1m, Newcastle vs Fulham)
Newcastle’s left-back has been in impressive form at St James’ Park, making an impact at both ends of the pitch. Over his last four home matches, he has accumulated 31 points, contributing three assists, securing three clean sheets, and earning three bonus points. With Fulham up next, he remains a strong option
Midfielders
Mo Salah (£13.1m, at Bournemouth, at Everton)
If you still have your Triple Captain chip, this is the perfect time to use it. Salah has been on fire all season, averaging over 10 FPL points per game, and now he has two fixtures after being completely rested (didn’t even travel) for Liverpool’s recent Champions League match. He’s easily the best captain choice, so if you don’t own him, this is the week you might want to find a way to bring him in.
~
Cole Palmer (£5.7m, Chelsea vs West Ham)
Palmer continues to be Chelsea’s most reliable attacker. He’s the Blues’ main creator, and he is on penalties plus other set pieces. He scored at West Ham in the reverse fixture and has a great chance to deliver again at home.
~
Cody Gakpo (£7.3m, at Bournemouth, at Everton)
Even with Liverpool’s front line rotating, Gakpo has quietly become one of the most consistent starters. He has seven goals plus two assists in his last eleven league games, making him an affordable differential for the mini-double. If you can’t afford Salah, Gakpo is a solid alternative.
~
Phil Foden (£8.0m, Arsenal vs Man City)
City faces a tough game away at Arsenal, but Foden has been playing well as one of City’s point-of-attack players. If you already own him, he’s worth holding, but it might not be the best week to bring him in fresh.
~
Jesper Lindstrom (£5.0m Everton vs Leicester, Everton vs Liverpool)
Lindstrom is a bit of a wild card pick, but if you’re looking for a budget differential, he could be the one. He has created four key passes plus two big chances in his last two games and has two home fixtures to make an impact.
~
Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m, Brentford vs Tottenham)
Mbeumo has been one of the best budget midfielders this season. He has three goals plus an assist in his last four matches, and he already scored at Tottenham earlier in the season, even before Spurs went relegation-bound (worst record except Southampton over the last six). If you need a solid mid-priced option, he’s worth considering.
Forwards
Alexander Isak (£7.7m, Newcastle vs Fulham)
Isak has been on a two-month hot streak, most recently scoring five goals and providing three assists in his last five home games. Newcastle’s attack revolves around him, and hosting Fulham, he should easily deliver again.
~
Erling Haaland (£14.4m, Arsenal vs Man City)
Haaland is always a goal threat, but playing away at Arsenal could be tricky. He has produced four goals plus an assist over his last four games, and he has also managed three goals in his five league matches against Arsenal. The Gunners conceded to lowly Girona midweek, so if you already own Haaland, you probably start him, but he’s not a must-buy this week, especially at his price (buy Salah first!).
