Nottingham Forest remain without Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ibrahim Sangare set for to return
Nottingham Forest will continue to be without Callum Hudson-Odoi when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at the City Ground on Saturday.
Nuno Espirito Santo says that long-term absentee Ibrahim Sangare, meanwhile, will be available for the game.
Winger Hudson-Odoi has failed to overcome a groin problem sustained in the 3-2 win over Southampton, which ensured he was sidelined for last weekend’s defeat at Bournemouth.
Forest will continue to monitor his injury in the hope that he will recover for either the trip to Exeter City in the FA Cup next Tuesday or, more likely, the Premier League game at Fulham beyond that.
“Callum is out. He is not going to be involved in the game. It is a big absence for us,” said Nuno in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Brighton game. “We are still assessing. It is something we hope to improve soon but he is not going to be available for this game.”

Jota was handed a rare start at Bournemouth in Hudson-Odoi’s absence at Bournemouth, with Anthony Elanga shifted over to the left side, instead of his normal role on the right.
But while Nuno will again have to find a solution without Hudson-Odoi, he will have more options in midfield, with Sangare (hamstring) and Danilo (broken leg) both having been fully rehabilitated and now considered ready to start, if called upon.
Sangare has trained with the squad for the last two weeks without issue having been out since September, while Danilo has already made his first team return as a substitute in the FA Cup against Luton recently.
“Ibrahim and Danilo are ready; they joined the squad,” said Nuno, who is hoping for an improvement following the 5-0 defeat on the south coast.
“We have to perform much better. We have to be more solid and play better football. We were not accurate and missed a lot of passes last weekend. We have so many things to improve. We have a big challenge ahead of us because Brighton are a very good team.”

Nottingham Forest fans will have to wait a little longer to see Callum Hudson-Odoi in action, as the Chelsea loanee continues to recover from injury. However, there is good news on the horizon as midfielder Ibrahim Sangare is set to make his return to the squad.
Hudson-Odoi, who joined Forest on loan in the January transfer window, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since his arrival at the club. The talented winger is making progress in his recovery, but is still not ready to make his debut for the Reds.
On the other hand, Sangare is set to return to action after missing the last few games due to a minor knock. The Ivorian midfielder has been a key player for Forest this season and his return will be a welcome boost for manager Steve Cooper.
With Sangare back in the squad, Forest will be hoping to continue their impressive form and push for a promotion spot in the Championship. Fans will be eagerly anticipating his return to the starting lineup and the impact he can make on the team.
Stay tuned for updates on Hudson-Odoi’s recovery and Sangare’s return as Nottingham Forest look to make a push for promotion this season.
