Phoenix-area temps to warm up going into the New Year

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Heading into the New Year, temperatures will trend above normal and dry.

The average temperature for this time of the year is 65 degrees.

Temperatures will be in the mid to lower 70s over the next few days. A couple of systems will pass to the north of the state, however Arizona won’t see any major impacts as more ridging builds in across the western U.S.

We will see periods of high clouds over the next week, but that’s about it.

No models hint at any chances of rain or snow for at least the next seven days. The Climate Prediction Center has released its 6-to-10-day outlook, which is now valid for the dates of Jan 4 to 8, and it shows warmer than normal temperatures expected, with the chance of precipitation being below normal.
