Phoenix-area under freeze warning overnight due to bitter cold temps

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It was a chilly start to our morning on Tuesday with lows in the lower 40s and some areas in the Valley dropping down into the mid-30s. And even colder temperatures are on the way for the deserts of the state.

This afternoon we will see a high of 61 degrees, which is 7 degrees below our average.

Expect to see even colder temperatures tomorrow morning with lows near freezing around the Valley. We have declared a First Alert Weather Day for Wednesday because the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning until 9 a.m. tomorrow.

After our cold morning, we will start to see warmer temperatures move into the Valley. Wednesday’s high will be in the upper 60s.

Even warmer weather is expected Thursday through Saturday, with highs in the lower 70s.

Another storm system will bring a chance of light rain here in the Valley and some snow in the High Country. The expected timing on this will be Saturday night through Sunday evening, but we will have a better grasp on what to expect as we get closer.
